May 01, 2018  Thanks - not wanting to debate westpac structure but I've been using Quicken to auto download from my westpac accounts for a couple of years and now it has stopped because of a change to the westpac login. So I'm just trying to work out how to get the same functionality that I had up to last week. Update 1/10: I have decided that Quicken for Mac is junk and removed it from my system. I managed to get over $3k out of sync with my Bank of America checking account, and kept complaining that Discover was sending it invalid dates. Good riddance to a crappy application! So far I like Mint.com.

Is this a known issue? Have tried to reset and deactivate and to no avail.

  • Thanks. I did call them and they confirmed they no longer support.
  • I also chatted Synchrony this morning and they indicated that Quicken is not supported since 2015!?!? However, it was working for me until last week. I did notice the URL that Quicken is attempting to use is www.myoptimizerplus.com, and Synchrony indicated that is not their URL, and I get 'suspicious website' errors when browsing to it.
  • tlpwis, what you just wrote is EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TO ME A FEW MINUTES AGO. It is actually spooky to read it, because I also saw that same thing about that 'suspicious' website. The jerk I chatted with had an attitude 'well, we haven't supported it since 2015..' like I was some kind of idiot.
  • Synchrony has said for a long time that they did not support Quicken, but because they do support Mint, the Quicken download works. That is it has been working. This week I got a error message which included ' invalid wareki.' That error is supposed to mean that the financial institution has changed service providers or something. I spend an hour in a chat with Quicken support. I had to send him my logs and he said he had escalated the problem to the escalation team. Said I should hear back in a few days. This is for my Synchrony Bank account not credit card, but if the error relates to a change of service providers it could also be effecting their card services. The reason I contacted Quicken, is the error code said that Quicken/Inuit would need to make a change.
    I haven't tried to deactivate and reactivate, I suppose that could solve the problem, but the Quicken chat guy did not suggest that.
  • Thanks for the update, ninaz. By the way, I did try deactivating and reactivating my savings account and it did not work. Would love to find out what they say if and when they get back to you.
  • It's been a known issue since at least the 16th. Interestingly was able to remove and then add it back and get it to sync with Mint but not Quicken.
  • I chatted with Synchrony just now because my High Yield Savings account suddenly no longer downloads. They had changed the login url, but it still did not download. Synchrony said they no longer support Quicken. They only support Mint and something else. I received no notice of either of these changes and am extremely dissatisfied with Synchrony they have made this decision. I hope if enough dissatisfied Synchrony users leave them, they will reconsider their choice to no longer support Quicken!

  • I have been receiving a CC-502 error from Synchrony Bank for over a week now. Anyone have any clues or suggestions.
  • UKR thanks for those links. I was wondering if this was effecting the bank cards. I still have not heard back from Quicken re my escalated support request. Sounds like this is going to take a while.

    Users will now receive a CC-501/Error 101 at Account Discovery because Synchrony servers are currently unavailable.
    While Quicken can get the Institution Information from the branding & profile servers, we cannot get account information due to the block.
    Our service provider is working with Synchrony's OFX service provider to get this issue resolved. Please allow 7-10 banking days for the fixes to be deployed.
    We are asking Users to NOT attempt any resolution steps on their own for this issue. We have been advised that any action taken to do so during this 'fix' period will destroy all work in progress for User access.
    We appreciate everyone's patience as we work towards getting this resolved!

    This is NOT a dispute between Q and Synchrony. It's a business decision by Synchrony There's nothing that Q CAN resolve.

  • Then why does Quicken Natalie say they are working to resolve it? Synchrony had this policy before and then did a work around so that you could download even though they claimed not to support Quicken. I still have not heard back from Quicken support about my escalated error report.

    Anyone having / wanting a Synchrony Savings Account must be resigned to entering the transactions manually.
    Until Quicken, Inc. has its own Servers to download transactions into Quicken, Banks should then sign up with Quicken, Inc.Until then, manually updating is the only way to keep accurate information.
    Banks are paranoid, Right now, Quicken gets the Transactions from Intuit from the Banks.to Quicken Users.

  • I just had a long chat session with Synchrony. It was fundamentally a dead end, except for the fact that I discovered they have a contract with Mint and Yodlee. They said they would look into it, share my concerns with management and that I should switch to either Mint or Yodlee.
    It seems that there is no formal agreement/contract between Quicken and Synchrony. If this is true, how can it get resolved?
    If this impass can't be resolved, I think it's time to switch banks. It is much more difficult to switch financial management solutions.

    Quicken Kathryn stated: 'Our providers have informed us that Synchrony is currently blocking all third-party attempts to aggregate transactions, which will result in Quicken users seeing either a CC-502 or an Error 102 when attempting to update accounts.
    These errors will also occur on any Synchrony-branded store credit cards.

    My Synchrony store-branded credit card Sam's Club Mastercard continues to down load transactions every day via EWC and Quicken Connect in both Qwin 2019 and Qmac 2019 without Errors. Clearly there is some mis-information floating around about this issue in regards to Synchrony store branded cards.

error updating account balances - Westpac. I'm using Quicken for Mac 2017 v 4.6.10. Westpac (the FI) has changed its login procedure and Im now getting this error. Any ideas or clues?

    Are you in the US or Aus? Because, I'm quite familiar with WestPac as an Aus banking institution .. but I wasn't aware that they had US branches.

    But that's WestPac for US based accounts. Q US can't connect to Aus accounts. Pretty much only US (and a very few Cdn) accounts.

    same westpac - and has been working for last few years. I gather the process is for Q sw people to update their login codes for Westpac. Im just trying to work out process to get that initiated.

    NOT 'same Westpac'. Westpac US has a US banking license, and is owned by WestPac Aus .. but it's not the same company, nor the same banking license. WestPac Aus isn't licensed to do business in the US .. but it's US sub is.
    And only US licensed banks (and a very few CDN banks) work with Q US.

    yet (if your bank recently changed their website or password requirements)?

    How to refresh financial institution information
    (Branding)

    Stage lighting programming software. If that doesn't
    resolve the issue:

    • It's the bank's contractual
      obligation to notify Intuit Inc. and/or Quicken Inc. of any changes to
      their websites and download functions in a timely manner before the change
      is implemented.
    • The bank also needs to notify
      their customers of this change and any actions that might be required by
      the customer to regain access.
    • Complain to your bank's upper
      level management.
    • Contact Quicken Support via
      Chat or Phone at https://www.quicken.com/support#contact-support and report this Online Banking issue.
